Doan Duc Minh, 47, is a freelance photographer currently living in Saigon, Vietnam. He is a member of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA), the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) and the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association (HOPA).
For over twenty years Minh has pursued a career in freelance photography, perfecting his craft along the way through formal studies in Vietnam and the United States. With an emphasis on photojournalism and advertising photography, Minh’s client list is comprised of many major Vietnamese and foreign corporations in Vietnam, most notably Citibank, Coca-Cola, Fujitsu, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Vietnam Airlines. Many local and regional media publications have featured Minh’s photographs, including the Asian Wall Street Journal, the Far Eastern Economic Review, and Vietnam Business Journal, among others. In 1997 he photographed former US President George Bush during a trip to Vietnam.
Minh is also one of Vietnam’s most established and highly regarded art photographers. Since 1992 his art photography has won numerous national and international awards, including the 2001 National Prize Photo Award in Vietnam. In 2007 Minh received a lifetime achievement award from HOPA for the contributions he has made over the years on the 25th anniversary celebration of Ho chi Minh City Photographic Association .
In addition to having his work showcased in various joint exhibitions in the United States, England, Japan, Thailand, and Austria, he has also held the following solo exhibitions:

Suffering and Smiles” (2005 – Vietnam)
Suffering and Smiles” (2006 – New York, USA)

Minh has two photography books to his credit: Vietnam – Captured in Time (2002) and Suffering and Smiles (2006). He is currently working on a third book, a collection of photographic essays on Vietnam.
